Learning Module one
Conflict Dynamics and Strategies
“Self and Others”, CIIAN’s highly-acclaimed self-paced, online, video series certificate program, develops critical skills to transform conflict in your personal or professional life. This program includes tools and strategies that have been refined over decades by the expertise of our practitioner-trainers; as well as the most recent findings from the fields of neuroscience; evolutionary biology; behavioral economics; psychology; and more.
Participants will learn strategies to navigate the entire spectrum of conflict including the prevention, de-escalation, and resolution of destructive conflict. Learning Module TWO
Mediation
As the first organization to offer certificates in mediation across Canada, we’ve spent over 30 years perfecting our approach. Our online program is the culmination of all that experience and expertise, now conveniently accessible from anywhere. With an updated curriculum and the latest theory, our world-class mediation training offers the most effective methods and tools for mastering this valuable skill.
Conflict Navigation
With a focus on conflict de-escalation, emotional regulation, assertiveness, and setting boundaries, this self-paced, online program prepares participants to maintain their composure while effectively navigating out of challenging situations. Course materials include CIIAN’s 12UTM emotional regulation strategy, to maintain composure during heated exchanges, and Conflict SailingTM, a conflict prevention and de-escalation communication strategy, to assertively deliver sensitive information while setting boundaries and preventing the situation from escalating.
Designed for those engaging with the public, (ex. social workers, healthcare workers, first responders, retail workers, etc.) earn a certificate in Conflict Navigation.
Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution
The Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution Certificate Program is a comprehensive program focusing on the theory, models, and skills applicable to peacebuilding and conflict resolution which may be applied in transitional societies, complex humanitarian emergencies and war-torn societies.
The course is designed to provide participants with opportunities to build bridges between theory and practice. It will also enhance their work with others to prevent violence, make peace, keep peace and build peace in increasingly challenging conflict situations. Developing networks with others who work in the conflict field and zones of conflict is an added benefit for those going through the program. Conflict analysis, negotiation, mediation and multiparty dialogue skills are central to the program, as is advocacy for violence prevention/peace and programming through a conflict lens.
